30255669We are pleased and honored to invite you to participate in the 2021 West Coast Open Martial Arts Championships on Sunday, October 10th. 2021. This year’s competition is once again at the Pierce College Gymnasium in Lakewood, WA.

The event will feature Senseis and competitors from across the USA and Canada, including Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Montana, and Idaho. The quality of the competition and officiating promises once again to be the finest in the USA.

We are proud to have the assistance and sponsorship of the Tacoma South Sound Commission and appreciate their hard work in making this a successful event. We are also grateful to the Washington State Karate-Do Federation, the regional sports organization for the USA Karate, for their support of this competition.


All competitors, officials, and volunteers are welcome to participate in this goodwill event tournament, so mark your calendars for Sunday, October 10th, and join us at the 2021 West Coast Open International Martial Arts Championships! 

Covid-19 Safety Protocol for the 2021 West Coast Open

  • Masks will be mandatory for everyone over 5 years old.
  • Pierce College is also requiring all Coaches, Judges, and athletes over the age of 12, to either be vaccinated or show proof of a negative covid test. (Taken within 72 hours of the day of competition.)
  • Home and drive-thru rapid tests are acceptable.

Over $2000 in cash prizes!

All 12-13, 14-15, 16-17 advanced kata and kumite winners will receive $100. Winners of the 12-17 WKF kata division, and 18-34 advanced kata and kumite divisions will also receive $100.

Modified USANKF-WKF Rules rules will be used.
